Other important dates to note:

Sat Dec 20th: We do NOT have MDP practice on Sat 12/20.

Sat Dec 20th: MDP night at PHS vs RHS/MHS hockey at 7:30pm at Portsmouth Abbey. These two local high school teams are made up primarily of Whalers hockey players. This is the perfect opportunity to watch a great game and show your kids where their hockey careers may lead. And for those of you on the Senators, you can see your very own Coach Mike M on the bench for PHS. If you do attend, please have your child wear his/her MDP team jersey.

Tuesday Dec 23rd: 1st annual Christmas Pond Hockey Jamboree from 5:30 – 7:30 at STG. I expect many families unable to attend, which is no problem. But if you are around, we are going to mix the 2 groups and make as many teams as needed and rotate them through a series of 10 minute pond hockey style games. Be sure to arrive early to help with team assignments. We will have the Christmas music playing and hopefully have some snacks and a good time will be had

A Recap of Scott West's most recent email:

1) We are on for Mite Night at the PHS vs MHS/RHS this Saturday night at the Portsmouth Abbey at 7:30 PM. If your child wears his or her MDP jersey they will receive a free hot chocolate. No other planning is needed - just show up and have fun cheering whichever or both teams!

2) As you know, with all of our hockey at St Georges, and our "gear intense" practices, we put a lot of strain on the rink and in particular the rink guys who take great care of us. I will be purchasing small Christmas gifts for the 3 guys. I would love to get parent contributions to these gifts...with so many families, I am only looking for $2 - $5 each (you decide). This is a 1-time, no pressure request. F-group parents can give money to me tomorrow night or this weekend. S-group parents please give contributions to Tucker West. Thanks for your consideration here.

3) How great are those new boards we got this year? I think we all agree they create a much better

“The Stars saw their winning streak snapped this past weekend (12/14/14)splitting their two games with a win against the Sabres in their first game but falling to the Sharks in their second game. With a short bench the Stars were lead by the scoring duo of Tuckerman Camera and Mia Phelps. The defensive effort was lead again by Jaidyn Spencer as he continued to be a force along the boards.

The Stars have already put these games in their rear view mirror as they get back to work this week focusing on things like stopping at the puck, and changing directions. With only one more game left before the Christmas holiday the Stars are looking for a string finish this upcoming Sunday."

On Sunday, November 2, 2014 the Stars showed their toughness and grit with Owen losing a tooth during the game and Brock needing to have blood wiped from his helmet. Don't worry fans, thankfully the tooth did not go missing for the important tooth fairy visit that night! Owen showed his true colors by getting back out on the ice and scoring a nice goal. - It was a great game played by all! - Go Stars!
