Registration is now open for the NCHYA Whalers House programs (Learn to Skate, Mite Development Program and House League) here. Programs start on the first scheduled date on or after 10/12/2024.

The registration page has program and equipment requirements but please note that new this year ALL NCYHA Whalers players are required to wear neck laceration protection regardless of age or program.

We will make every effort to maintain the planned schedule for all programs but availability of ice time may necessitate changes. Any changes will be communicated by email or via the team SportsEngine schedule page

Program schedule and location is below:

House League: Players 8-14 looking to improve hokey skills. All players must be able to skate with basic hockey skills

• Saturday and Sunday from 9:00-9:50 at St. Georges

Mite Development Program: USA Hockey Athlete Development Program driven learn to play. Open to players born in 2016 and 2017.

• Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 - 8:50 at St. Georges
• Tuesdays from 5:45 to 6:35 at St. Georges

Learn to Skate: Players aged 4-10 looking to develop beginning skating skills.

• The first session runs from 10/12 through December 2024. You can sign up for either the Saturday session from 8:00-8:50 AM at Portsmouth Abbey or the Wednesday session from 5:45 - 6:35 PM at St. Georges
• Session Two will run from the start of January through the end of February. Specific dates, times and locations are still being finalized and the options will be available for registration shortly

USA Hockey Registration 
All players must be registered with USA Hockey for the 2024-25 season.   Please complete this before proceeding with this registration.   

TRAVEL TEAM PROGRAM FEES

• Pre-Season Deposits:   The deposit paid in Spring 2024 will be applied to the full season fees due.     Any late fees applied to your pre-season evaluation registration are not credited to the amount due.   If you did not complete the pre-season evaluation registration and deposit, please indicate this on the payment page so the correct amount can be collected during this process.   
• Travel Goalies:   Full-time travel goalies pay 50% of all above fees.   
• Early Registration Discount:   A $50 discount will be applied to all registrations received by July 17, 2024.    
• Late Registration Fee:   A $50 late fee will be applied to all registrations received after August 10, 2024.   
• Please note: All players must wear neck laceration protection starting Aug 1 

* Mite, Squirt & PeeWee fees listed above do not include the deposit already collected at spring tryouts. Travel goalies pay 50% of the above posted rates.

If the participant did not attend Spring tryouts, please add the $200 non-tryout participant fee when registering for Mites, Squirts PeeWees, or Bantams; $100 for Goalies.

If you are registering more than one player in your family this season, you will receive a 10% discount on the third (and fourth, etc. if applicable) child's registration fee.  In order for the registration system to recognize that your family is registering multiple players, please register all of your players at this time.  On the Review Page, there is a link near the bottom to "Register Another Player" - please click on this link to ensure that all of your family's players are registered within the same order.

A 2023-2024 USA hockey number will be necessary for registration (https://www.usahockeyregistration.com/).
