Head Coach Scot West:

"After an up and down crazy season our bantam team found ourselves in 5th or so place when we got the great news that we would have practice time for two weeks in March at the Abbey. We made full use of every second of ice time and coincidentally or not, we did not lose another game after we started practicing again.

The season saw us finish in 4th place setting up a great weekend of playoff hockey. Our first victory came Thursday night and set up an incredibly close semi-final game on Saturday against the Broncos where our 5-3 victory was not certain until the last minute or so. Sunday's final against the Blue saw a high energy, back and forth game. After a scoreless first period, Nate Marshall buried a pair of goals in the same shift. The Blues replied with the next goal, but the Whalers took the ensuing faceoff and netted one of the more beautiful goals of the season with every player on the ice moving the puck and Jaden Wright burying the goal. While the game remained tight from there, with both teams playing hard fought and tough hockey, they never got within 2 goals.

Our players, coaches and parents were all thrilled to celebrate the win at the end of a long and crazy season and for many, the end of a long and rewarding career of Whalers Hockey."
